CW27 › Your weekly pills: October CMS, End of Life for PHP 5.5, Vue.JS and more.

Wow, another week is already over and I hope you had a great week. Here you get your weekly pills for your inspiration.

PHP 5.5 is already EOL

Hey PHP developers keep in mind that PHP 5.5 is at the End of life. It means:

A release that is no longer supported. Users of this release should upgrade as soon as possible, as they may be exposed to unpatched security vulnerabilities.

So time to upgrade to the latest PHP 5.6 or 7.0. And keep in mind that Laravel 5.3 is in the front of us and it will support only PHP 5.6 or higher.

Good news for Vue.js

Good news about Vue.js this week by Evan You.

It’s official: I am now receiving enough support to sustain fulltime development on Vue.js and related projects. Big thanks to every backer!

This will push Vue.js and related projects. Congrats to Evan.

October CMS released

Finally the time has come and the Laravel-based October CMS 1.0 Stable Release is online. You can read their Release Announcements on the October website and watch an introduction video on Vimeo. I already use October and I'm looking forward to the next steps.

Shot of the week

One of my shots from my trip to Miami last year. It is one photos from Wynwood where you can find art in nearly each corner and it is one of my favorite places with so much inspiration. You can follow me to see more of my shots.

Worth a look, worth a read

My recommendation this week is the documentary The beginning of life by Estela Renner. It documents the lives of young children and their families across the world. Such a great movie.
